What is The Standardx's role in providing, communicating, and interpreting the Design and Construction Standards for the Franchisee and their Consultants during all phases of the Project?

According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, The Standardx plays a significant role in providing, communicating, and interpreting the Design and Construction Standards for the franchisee and their consultants throughout all project phases. The Standardx will conduct activities as part of its review of the franchisee's design and construction process, including providing, communicating, and interpreting the Design and Construction Standards for the franchisee and their consultants during all phases of the project. The Standardx may also attend design meetings, make periodic observations, and provide operational and technical assistance to ensure conformity with the Preliminary Area Program.

The Standardx will review and comment on each level of the design documents submitted by the franchisee, detailing any non-compliance issues in writing. Franchisees are responsible for ensuring their consultants and contractors implement The Standardx's directions to comply with the Design and Construction Standards. Franchisees must also submit all concepts, plans, and designs for approval to both the franchisee and The Standardx before implementation.

Prospective franchisees should note that The Standardx's design and construction reviews are intended to assist the franchisee and their consultants in meeting their obligations but do not relieve them of their responsibilities to ensure completeness, coordination, and compliance with legal requirements. The franchisee is also responsible for engaging and retaining all consultants required for the project, subject to agreement by both the franchisee and The Standardx. The Standardx may nominate consultants, and franchisees must replace any existing consultants whose work does not meet The Standardx's standards.
