What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must ensure that their lessees and affiliates adhere to specific operational standards for any Non-Hotel Components within a Mixed-Use Site. These standards are designed to maintain brand consistency and protect the goodwill associated with The Standardx.

Specifically, franchisees must ensure that all Non-Hotel Components are developed, maintained, and operated in accordance with quality, design, and operational standards that are consistent with those applicable to the Hotel itself. This aims to create a cohesive experience for customers and maintain a uniform brand image across the entire Mixed-Use Site.

Additionally, lessees and affiliates must not advertise, market, or promote the Non-Hotel Components as being directly associated with or part of The Standardx hotel brand, except when such promotion is explicitly approved under Section 5 of the Franchise Agreement. This restriction is in place to prevent unauthorized use of The Standardx's proprietary marks and to control brand messaging. Finally, the Non-Hotel Components must be operated in a manner that, in The Standardx's reasonable judgment, does not damage or negatively impact the goodwill associated with any of The Standardx's proprietary marks. This clause provides The Standardx with a degree of oversight to ensure that the Non-Hotel Components do not harm the brand's reputation.
