What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hyatt Franchising, L.L.C. will identify brands, types, makes, and models of FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) and other items that meet their System Standards. If required, they will also designate and approve suppliers for these items. Hyatt or a designated affiliate may directly provide, deliver, and sometimes install certain items. The Standardx will provide franchisees with the names of approved suppliers for some items, and the System Standards or other communications will outline the standards and specifications for certain items.
This means that as a franchisee, you'll receive guidance on where to source necessary items for your hotel, ensuring they meet The Standardx's standards. This can streamline the procurement process and help maintain brand consistency across all locations. However, it also means you may be limited to specific suppliers chosen by The Standardx, potentially impacting your ability to negotiate pricing or choose alternative vendors.
It's important for prospective franchisees to understand the extent of these supplier requirements and any associated costs. While using approved suppliers can ensure quality and compliance with brand standards, it's crucial to evaluate whether these arrangements offer competitive pricing and terms. Franchisees should also inquire about the process for suggesting or requesting approval of alternative suppliers if desired.
