- Approve your initial design development documents and detailed plans for a new Hotel or renovation plans for conversion of an existing structure, including working drawings and specifications, if they comply with our Design and Construction Standards, the Hotel System and System Standards. You must prepare and submit the plans to us for our approval and change the plans as we specify. You may not begin constructing, remodeling or developing the Hotel until we have approved the plans. You may not change the approved plans, including by changing any structural or life safety equipment or systems, the number or type of guest rooms or common areas, or any architectural features, without our prior approval. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must obtain approval from The Standardx for their initial design development documents and detailed plans before beginning any construction, remodeling, or development of the hotel. This includes new hotel constructions or renovations of existing structures. These plans must comply with The Standardx's Design and Construction Standards, the Hotel System, and System Standards.
The franchisee is required to submit these plans to The Standardx for approval and make any changes that The Standardx specifies. The franchisee cannot commence any construction, remodeling, or development activities until The Standardx has given its approval.
Furthermore, once the plans are approved, the franchisee is not allowed to make any changes to them without prior approval from The Standardx. This restriction includes changes to structural or life safety equipment or systems, the number or type of guest rooms or common areas, or any architectural features. This ensures that all The Standardx hotels maintain a consistent standard and adhere to the brand's specifications.
