What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if designs or incomplete submittals are not approved by Hyatt, the franchisee may need to resubmit them. Hyatt's review of the franchisee's design and construction process includes reviewing and commenting on each level of the design documents submitted by the franchisee. These documents must comply with the Design and Construction Standards and the Preliminary Area Program and must be aesthetically acceptable to Hyatt. If items do not meet these requirements, they will be returned to the franchisee with a written explanation.
The FDD outlines a detailed Design Review Submittal Process that facilitates the review and release of design plans, construction plans, and specifications for a new The Standardx hotel. This process includes several stages, such as Conceptual Design Submittal, Schematic Design Submittal, Mock-up Room Submittal, Design Development Submittal, and Construction Documentation Submittal. At each stage, specific documents and materials must be submitted for review. Unacceptable designs or incomplete submittals at any of these stages may need to be resubmitted.
Hyatt's approval of plans, designs, and specifications is limited to brand adequacy, relationship of spaces, quality standards, and the aesthetics of the building for use as a The Standardx hotel. While Hyatt provides comments and feedback, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements, obtaining necessary licenses and permits, and the overall success of the project. The franchisee must ensure that all submissions are complete and meet Hyatt's standards to avoid delays and the need for resubmission.
