What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an 'F&B Operator' is defined as any proposed restaurant operator or other operator of some or all food and beverage ('F&B') operations at the hotel, excluding the franchisee or its approved management company. The F&B Operations Plan must include the identity of any proposed F&B Operator.

The F&B Operations encompass a wide range of services for hotel guests and patrons. These include restaurant, dining, bar, lounge, and retail food and beverage services, as well as banquet, meeting, event, catering (including outside catering), and room services. It also covers multi-functional service areas serving coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and alcoholic beverages, grab-and-go food and beverage items in a hotel market, communal areas functioning as restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and workplaces, standalone restaurants, rooftop bars, and all other food, beverage, and related services at the hotel.

Before the hotel begins operating under The Standardx's proprietary marks, the franchisee must ensure that each F&B Operator signs documents specified by The Standardx to protect its intellectual property and other rights. Additionally, The Standardx has the option to require the franchisee to submit any proposed lease or agreement between the franchisee (or its affiliate or management company) and the F&B Operator for approval. The franchisee cannot sign any lease or agreement that The Standardx has not approved.
