Who determines the method of pre-opening training for The Standardx hotels, and what are the possible methods?

The_Standardx Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Hyatt will provide pre-opening training to the Hotel staff on the System Standards and related issues in connection with the Hotel's opening in affiliation with the Proprietary Marks.

Hyatt may conduct this training via remote learning, in one or more visits to the Hotel, or both, as Hyatt determines in its sole option.

Franchisee must pay Hyatt's then current fee and the trainers' travel and living expenses associated with any training that Hyatt provides on-site at the Hotel.

If Hyatt provides on-site training, the trainers will arrive at or before the Hotel's opening in affiliation with the Proprietary Marks and stay for the period that Hyatt specifies.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hyatt, the franchisor, has the sole option to determine the method of pre-opening training for the Hotel staff. The training will focus on System Standards and related issues.

The training methods that Hyatt may use include remote learning, on-site visits to the Hotel, or a combination of both. If Hyatt provides on-site training, the franchisee is responsible for paying Hyatt's current fee, as well as the trainers' travel and living expenses. The trainers will arrive at or before the Hotel's opening and stay for a period specified by Hyatt.

This means that as a prospective franchisee, you have limited control over how the pre-opening training is conducted. The Standardx determines whether the training will be remote, in-person, or a hybrid. It is important to factor in the potential costs associated with on-site training, such as fees, travel, and lodging expenses for the trainers, as these are the franchisee's responsibility.
