What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hyatt will conduct its own inspection of a franchise location after receiving a pre-opening inspection report prepared by consultants. This is contingent on achieving a satisfactory level of completion.
During the inspection, Hyatt will detail any variances from approved minimum standards or contract specifications, defective architectural, fire and life safety, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), or interior works, and defective, missing, or incomplete FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) in a report to the franchisee. Hyatt will not assess areas without a prepared and circulated report or areas not substantially completed and installed with FF&E.
Prior to this inspection, the franchisee must ensure all fire and life safety and MEP systems are completed, tested, and commissioned. A timetable detailing the dates and duration of each system's testing and commissioning must be submitted to Hyatt. Hyatt will not approve any system or component that has not been fully tested and commissioned with recorded results. Additionally, a third-party audit of the hotel's fire and life safety systems must be completed at the franchisee's expense, and all deficiencies must be corrected to Hyatt's satisfaction before the hotel's operation.
