What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees cannot alter the number of guest rooms in their hotel without prior consent from The Standardx. Specifically, franchisees must receive written consent from The Standardx before making any material changes to the hotel's construction. This includes modifications to the number and/or type of guest rooms.
This restriction is in place to ensure that all The Standardx hotels maintain consistent standards and comply with the brand's overall system standards. These standards cover various aspects of the hotel, including its physical structure and appearance. By requiring franchisees to obtain prior approval for changes to the number of guest rooms, The Standardx aims to control the quality and uniformity of its hotels.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that any plans to modify the number of guest rooms after the initial construction or renovation require approval from The Standardx. This process likely involves submitting detailed plans and complying with any conditions or procedures that The Standardx establishes for such changes. Franchisees should factor in the time and potential costs associated with obtaining this approval when considering any modifications to their hotel's guest room configuration.
