What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to The Standardx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hyatt will advise the franchisee and its consultants on several key areas during the design and construction process. These areas include architectural and interior design, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Systems, trade equipment specifications and layouts, audio/visual systems, telecommunications Systems, security systems, and project systems. This advice is intended to assist the franchisee in adhering to The Standardx's Design and Construction Standards. Hyatt will also provide guidance on FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection.
Hyatt's role includes communicating and interpreting the Design and Construction Standards, reviewing the project's development timetable and budget for completeness, attending design meetings, and providing operational and technical assistance. Hyatt will also review and comment on design documents at each stage of the project, ensuring compliance with the Design and Construction Standards and the Preliminary Area Program. Any non-compliant items will be returned to the franchisee with a written explanation.
Furthermore, Hyatt may advise on the selection of key consultants, such as design architects, working architects, MEP services consultants, interior design consultants, lighting consultants, landscape designers, food service consultants, food & beverage consultants, and audio-visual consultants. The franchisee is responsible for engaging and retaining all necessary consultants, subject to Hyatt's approval. Hyatt's involvement aims to ensure that the hotel is developed, constructed, and equipped according to The Standardx's standards and the agreed-upon Development Timetable.
