What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Surestay Hotel By Best Western requires franchisees to submit advertising and promotional materials for approval before they are used. Specifically, franchisees must submit samples of all advertising and promotional materials that Surestay Hotel By Best Western has not previously approved. This includes materials in digital, electronic, or computerized form, as well as any form of media that exists now or is developed in the future.

Surestay Hotel By Best Western must approve the materials before the franchisee can begin using them. Furthermore, if Surestay Hotel By Best Western disapproves of any advertising or promotional material, the franchisee must immediately stop using it, even if Surestay Hotel By Best Western had previously approved the materials.

This requirement allows Surestay Hotel By Best Western to maintain brand consistency and ensure that all advertising and promotional efforts align with their standards. It also protects the brand's image and reputation by preventing franchisees from using materials that could be considered inappropriate or ineffective. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as franchisors typically want to maintain control over their brand's image.

For a prospective Surestay Hotel By Best Western franchisee, this means they will need to factor in the time and effort required to create advertising and promotional materials and submit them for approval. They should also be prepared to make changes to their materials based on Surestay Hotel By Best Western's feedback. Failure to comply with these requirements could result in penalties or even termination of the franchise agreement.
