Initial Training
We do not assist in the hiring of your employees, but we will provide initial brand training to one of your Hotel Representative(s) virtually, at your Hotel, or at another location we designate, at our election. The initial brand training program covers the areas of brand programs, marketing, sales, loyalty, and brand culture. We offer the training program on an as-needed basis throughout the year depending on our trainers' and attendees' availability.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Sonesta Simply Suites' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for training their own employees. However, Sonesta Simply Suites will provide initial brand training to the Hotel Representative, covering areas such as brand programs, marketing, sales, loyalty, and brand culture.
This initial training is crucial, as the Hotel Representative must complete it to Sonesta Simply Suites' satisfaction, and failure to do so may result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement. The franchisee may request additional training if the Hotel Representative does not feel adequately trained after the initial program, with the duration jointly determined by Sonesta Simply Suites and the franchisee. If no such request is made, the Hotel Representative is deemed sufficiently trained.
Sonesta Simply Suites also makes available training materials such as the Brand Manual and other training modules in their learning management system. This means that while Sonesta Simply Suites provides the foundational brand-specific training to a representative, the ongoing and comprehensive training of all hotel staff falls to the franchisee, ensuring that brand standards are maintained at the local level.
