Ongoing Training
We may require you (or your Principal) and your Hotel Representatives to attend and complete to our satisfaction various training courses that we periodically choose to provide at the times and locations that we designate, including courses and programs provided by third parties we designate. Training may be conducted in-person/on-site or virtually ad hoc at our current fees (currently, $2,000 per day plus reimbursement of our personnel's travel costs and expenses for in-person/on-site and $200 per hour for virtual ad hoc) and at our discretion. Besides attending these courses, you and your general manager or a representative of your Management Company (if applicable) must attend the Brand Conference (which will be convened no less frequently than every 24 months) at a location we designate. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Sonesta Simply Suites' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees (or their Principals) and Hotel Representatives may be required to attend ongoing training courses. Sonesta Simply Suites can designate the times and locations for these courses, which may be provided by third parties. The training can be conducted in person or virtually.
In addition to these courses, the franchisee, general manager, or a representative from the Management Company must attend the Brand Conference, which is convened no less frequently than every 24 months. All training and the Brand Conference may be held virtually at Sonesta Simply Suites' discretion.
The maximum number of training days that Sonesta Simply Suites can require during any calendar year is five days. Sonesta Simply Suites may also require franchisees to provide evidence that their hotel personnel are adequately trained throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement.
