What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Sonesta Simply Suites' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial brand training program is typically conducted virtually. The FDD states that the 4-day training program has a fee of $1,500, plus reimbursement of travel costs and expenses if the training is conducted in person.
One of the franchisee's Hotel Representatives, such as the general manager or owner, must complete the initial training for certification before the hotel opens or within 90 days of activating the hotel in Sonesta Simply Suites' system. If the Hotel Representative leaves their position, a new representative must attend the training, and the franchisee will be required to pay the fee again.
Sonesta Simply Suites also offers ongoing training, which can be conducted in person/on-site at a cost of $2,000 per day plus reimbursement of travel costs and expenses, or virtually on an ad-hoc basis at $200 per hour. If the franchisee requests in-person training, they will be responsible for reimbursing Sonesta Simply Suites for the trainer's travel, living, and miscellaneous expenses. However, there are no additional travel costs for virtual training.
