What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Sonesta Simply Suites Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee in full compliance with the Franchise Agreement has the option to request a successor franchise. However, this is contingent upon meeting certain conditions.

Sonesta Simply Suites may grant a successor franchise if the franchisee corrects any existing deficiencies at their hotel or in its operation. Alternatively, Sonesta Simply Suites may grant a successor franchise if the franchisee agrees to transition their hotel into a different brand concept, as outlined in Section 13.A(4) of the Franchise Agreement.

However, Sonesta Simply Suites reserves the right to deny a successor franchise if it determines that the franchisee and its owners have not substantially complied with the Franchise Agreement during its term, were not in full compliance with the agreement and all Brand Standards on the date written notice was given of the election to acquire a successor franchise, or have received four or more default notices during the term. Additionally, a successor franchise may be denied if Sonesta Simply Suites no longer grants franchises for Brand Hotels.
