What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Sonesta Simply Suites does not guarantee a franchisee's success. The FDD emphasizes that purchasing a franchise involves inherent risks, and the success of the business depends on various factors, many of which are outside the franchisor's control. These factors include the franchisee's skills, abilities, dedication, competition, economic conditions, and other market variables.
The document includes an acknowledgment statement where the prospective franchisee confirms they understand that buying a Sonesta Simply Suites franchise is not a guarantee of success. It also states that the franchisee's success depends primarily on their efforts and not those of the franchisor. This acknowledgment aims to ensure that franchisees recognize the risks involved and do not rely on any assurances of success from Sonesta Simply Suites that are not explicitly stated in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
This is a common practice in the franchise industry. Franchisors typically avoid guaranteeing success because the performance of a franchise is heavily influenced by the franchisee's management and local market conditions. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these risks and conduct thorough due diligence before investing in a Sonesta Simply Suites franchise.
