What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Sonesta Simply Suites FDD, franchisees must prominently display the brand's marks at their hotel. This includes displaying the marks on forms, advertising materials, supplies, products, stationery, and other materials that Sonesta Simply Suites designates.
This requirement ensures brand consistency and visibility across all Sonesta Simply Suites locations. By adhering to the franchisor's guidelines on mark usage and display, franchisees contribute to the overall brand recognition and customer experience. This also means that franchisees must use the marks associated with Brand Hotels as the sole identification of their Hotel, except that they agree to identify themselves as its independent owner in the manner Sonesta Simply Suites prescribes.
Sonesta Simply Suites retains the right to direct franchisees to modify or discontinue the use of any mark, or to use additional or substitute trademarks or service marks. While franchisees are obligated to comply with these directives, Sonesta Simply Suites is not responsible for reimbursing franchisees for any expenses incurred in changing exterior and interior signs, stationery, packaging, operating equipment and supplies, employee uniforms, brochures and other promotional material, or any other items used at or in connection with their Hotel. They are also not responsible for any loss of revenue due to any modified or discontinued Mark, or for your expenses of promoting a modified or substitute trademark or service mark.
These stipulations are typical in franchising, as they protect the brand's identity and reputation. Franchisees should be aware of these requirements and factor in potential costs associated with rebranding or mark changes during the term of their franchise agreement.
