What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Sonesta Simply Suites Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Network Hotels' are defined as the collective group of hotels that Sonesta, its affiliates, and their respective franchisees or licensees operate under the 'Network Marks'. Network Marks include various service marks, trademarks, and trade names such as Sonesta Simply Suites, Classico Collection By Sonesta, MOD A Sonesta Collection, The James, Sonesta Hotels and Resorts, Royal Sonesta, Hotel RL, Sonesta Select Hotels, Sonesta Essential Hotels, Sonesta ES Suites, Red Lion Hotel, Red Lion Inn & Suites, RL, Americas Best Value Inn, Knights Inn, Signature Inn, GuestHouse, Signature, Canadas Best Value Inn, Country Hearth, Jameson Inn, Lexington, America's Best Inn, and Sonesta Posadas del Inca (hotels located outside the United States).
For a prospective Sonesta Simply Suites franchisee, understanding the concept of 'Network Hotels' is important because it relates to brand promotion programs and loyalty programs. Sonesta and its affiliates have established brand promotion programs for all Network Hotels, and these programs may be separated or consolidated across different brands within the network. Fees collected from franchisees, like Brand Promotion Fees, may be used to support marketing and advertising efforts that benefit all Network Hotels.
Furthermore, participation in loyalty programs such as Sonesta Travel Pass may extend across all Network Hotels, providing guests with rewards and benefits when staying at any of these locations. As a franchisee, you are required to participate in and honor the terms of these loyalty programs, and you must pay all associated fees and charges. This interconnectedness means that the performance and reputation of other hotels within the 'Network Hotels' can potentially impact your own franchise, and vice versa. Therefore, it's crucial to understand how these programs operate and how they can affect your hotel's performance and guest satisfaction.
