What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Sonesta Simply Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee's obligation to undergo a quality assurance inspection in a given year may be waived. This waiver is based on the hotel's performance in the preceding year.
However, even if Sonesta Simply Suites waives the inspection, a franchisee can still request an inspection. If the franchisee chooses to have the inspection performed, they will be required to pay the initial inspection fee. The FDD also states that Sonesta Simply Suites may require additional inspections if the hotel's total score is below an acceptable level.
The initial quality assurance annual inspection can cost up to $2,500 once per year, plus appropriate and customary travel, lodging, and meals. If the hotel fails the quality inspection, a re-inspection will be required at an additional fee of up to $4,000 plus appropriate and customary travel, lodging, and meals.
