According to Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an onboarding administration fee is required. For a Sonesta Select-branded hotel, the fee is $5,000. For a Sonesta Essential-branded hotel, the fee is $2,500.
However, the onboarding administration fee is reduced if you are acquiring an existing Brand Hotel. In this case, the fee is $2,500 for Sonesta Select-branded hotels and $2,000 for Sonesta Essential-branded hotels.
This fee is non-refundable and is due during or immediately after the onboarding process. This means that prospective franchisees need to factor this cost into their initial investment and ensure they have the funds available when required.
