What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 FDD, the initial brand training program for Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential franchisees does not include any hours of classroom training. Instead, the training focuses on on-the-job training, conducted either virtually or on-site.

The training covers various subjects, including brand welcome and orientation (1-3 hours), loyalty (2-4 hours), LMS – Sonesta University & Access Point (1-2 hours), brand programs and services (3-5 hours), brand standards, policies, and procedures (3-5 hours), CRS (1 hour), technology and supplier services (2-5 hours), guest relations, brand reputation performance, and reviews (3-5 hours), lead generation (1 hour), and quality assurance (1-2 hours). The total on-the-job training time ranges from 18 to 33 hours.

The FDD also notes that the hours devoted to each subject are estimates and may vary based on factors such as class size, participation, the attendee's experience, and the schedule. Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential may also elect to conduct the training at another location of their choosing. Prospective franchisees should consider that while the initial training for the Hotel Representative does not include classroom hours, additional training may be available at the end of the initial program at the franchisee's request and expense if the Hotel Representative does not feel adequately trained.
