What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential Franchise Disclosure Document, the Representations and Acknowledgment Statement emphasizes the importance of thorough review and independent consultation for prospective franchisees. It advises that franchisees have professionals, such as lawyers and accountants, review the FDD and Franchise Agreement to fully understand their implications. This proactive approach aims to ensure franchisees are well-informed about their rights, responsibilities, and the potential risks associated with the franchise.
Furthermore, the statement encourages prospective Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential franchisees to consult with existing franchisees to gain insights into the realities of operating a franchise within the system. This peer-to-peer consultation can provide valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that come with the franchise, helping new franchisees make informed decisions. The statement also underscores that all rights and responsibilities are detailed exclusively within the FDD and Franchise Agreement, advising against reliance on any external or verbal assurances.
By signing the Representations and Acknowledgment Statement, the franchisee confirms they are not relying on any information outside of the FDD and that they understand the success of the business depends primarily on their own efforts. This acknowledgement is crucial for Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential, as it protects them from potential future claims based on misunderstandings or reliance on information not contained within the official documents.
