What is the definition of 'Food and Beverage Operations' for a Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential franchise?

According to the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential defines 'Food and Beverage Operations' as the products and services ancillary to the operation of your Hotel that we may periodically specify, such as food and beverage operations, restaurants, dining, bar, lounge, retail food and beverage services, banquets, meetings, events and catering services.

This definition means that as a franchisee, you are required to offer and sell all food and beverage products and services that Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential specifies in their Brand Manual. These offerings can include a range of options, from basic food and beverage services to more extensive dining and event catering. You are also restricted from offering any food or beverage products or services that have not been authorized by Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential, and you must discontinue any offerings that Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential disapproves of.

It is important to note that all Food and Beverage Operations must be operated in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and Brand Standards. The franchisee, or the Management Company if applicable, is responsible for providing training programs to ensure compliance. Sonesta Select Sonesta Essential retains the right to revoke approval of your Food and Beverage Operations if you fail to meet these standards.
