What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax reserves the right to remove or not allow displayed User Content under specific conditions related to its appropriateness and compliance with set terms. This applies to content that franchisees post, upload, transmit, submit, or otherwise make available through MAX/Center or the Platform.
Specifically, Remax can remove User Content if it does not meet the requirements outlined in the terms of use or if Remax determines, in its sole discretion, that the content is inappropriate. This gives Remax broad authority over the content displayed on its platforms.
For a prospective Remax franchisee, this means that all User Content must adhere to Remax's standards and terms. Failure to comply with these standards could result in the removal of the content. It is important for franchisees to understand these terms to avoid potential issues with content they post. Franchisees should ensure their content is not illegal, defamatory, libelous, pornographic, obscene, abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, or offensive, and that they have the necessary rights and permissions for any third-party content included.
This clause protects Remax from potential legal liabilities and ensures that the content aligns with the brand's image and standards. Franchisees should be aware that Remax has the final say on what is considered appropriate and can remove content even if it technically meets the minimum requirements, based on Remax's own judgment.
