Under what conditions can Remax discontinue the use of RE/MAX Marketing Content?

According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax, LLC has the sole option to discontinue the use of any RE/MAX Marketing Content at any time. If Remax chooses to discontinue the use of marketing content, the franchisee must take any required action to discontinue its use.

This means that Remax franchisees must be prepared to immediately stop using any marketing materials if instructed to do so by Remax. This includes deleting, destroying, and ceasing all usage of any products or materials that incorporate any portion of the RE/MAX Marketing Content, even if the franchisee created or purchased them. This also applies to any expired RE/MAX Marketing Content.

This clause gives Remax broad control over its brand and marketing. It allows Remax to quickly respond to market changes, legal requirements, or branding updates. While this protects the Remax brand, it also places the burden on the franchisee to stay informed about current marketing guidelines and to promptly comply with any directives from Remax regarding the discontinuation of marketing content. Franchisees should factor in the potential costs of replacing or disposing of marketing materials when evaluating the franchise opportunity.

Furthermore, franchisees must adhere to the RE/MAX Brand Identity Trademark and Graphic Standards manual when using RE/MAX Marketing Content. The content should only be used to promote and advertise RE/MAX real estate activities in a way that does not harm, disparage, detract from, or devalue Remax or its affiliates. Franchisees must also comply with any expiration dates for the marketing content, regardless of how those dates are communicated.
