What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax retains the right to suspend or terminate a member's access to MAX/Center, the company's online platform, without prior notice under several circumstances. These include if the member no longer meets the defined criteria of a Remax member, breaches any terms of the MAX/Center User Agreement, or violates the Franchise Agreement itself. Suspension or termination can also occur if a member ceases affiliation with the Remax organization, fails to update their office address with Remax, or engages in any prohibited use of MAX/Center.
Prohibited uses of MAX/Center include activities that compromise the platform's integrity, reliability, or reputation, or that of the Remax brand. This broad clause allows Remax considerable discretion in determining what constitutes a violation. The document specifies that the list of reasons for suspension or termination is not exhaustive, granting Remax further latitude in enforcing these terms.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that maintaining good standing with Remax, adhering to all agreements, and ensuring responsible use of the MAX/Center platform are crucial to avoid disruption of access. The franchisee should carefully review the User Agreement and Franchise Agreement to fully understand their obligations and the potential triggers for suspension or termination. Given the subjective nature of some of these conditions, maintaining open communication with Remax and promptly addressing any concerns can help mitigate the risk of losing access to this important business tool.
