What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the customer is solely responsible for procuring and maintaining the network connections, hardware, and all other equipment required for the customer's operation of the software. This includes ensuring the accuracy, quality, and legality of customer data, as well as updating it as needed. Remax bears no responsibility for these aspects of the customer's data or equipment.
This means that as a Remax franchisee, you are responsible for ensuring that your customers have the necessary equipment and network connections to use the software effectively. This responsibility extends to the costs associated with acquiring and maintaining this equipment. You must ensure that your customers' computer systems are compatible with Remax's communication and data reporting requirements, including having the appropriate operating systems and web browsers.
Furthermore, you are responsible for securing your computer system and protecting it from viruses, malware, and other security threats. This includes installing and regularly updating antivirus software, firewalls, and other security measures. You must also notify Remax immediately of any data or security breaches related to your office. Failing to meet these requirements could lead to interruptions in service or performance failures, for which Remax will not be held responsible.
