What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax is not responsible for the accuracy of customer data. The FDD states that the customer is solely responsible for the accuracy, quality, legality, and appropriateness of customer data. Remax has no responsibility for these aspects of the data.

This means that as a Remax franchisee, you are responsible for ensuring that all customer data you collect and use is accurate, of high quality, legally obtained, and appropriate for its intended use. This includes verifying the information you receive, complying with privacy laws, and maintaining data security.

The franchisee is also responsible for determining if the Offerings and the information generated are accurate and sufficient for the franchisee's purposes, updating customer data as needed, and all changes and deletions to the Customer Data. Additionally, the franchisee is responsible for any output or other results obtained or generated by the Offerings as a result of Remax's use of or reliance on Customer Data.

This allocation of responsibility is fairly standard in franchising, where franchisees typically manage their customer relationships and data while the franchisor provides the systems and support. However, it places a significant burden on the franchisee to maintain data integrity and compliance.
