What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax is not required to obtain consent from the franchisee or provide notice in connection with any transfer or assignment of the franchise agreement. The FDD states that the franchise agreement is fully transferable by Remax and will benefit any person or entity to whom it is transferred.
Remax will not be required to obtain the franchisee's consent or provide any notice in connection with any such transfer or assignment. The franchisee agrees to execute any documents and take such other action required or deemed necessary by Remax or its transferee or assignee to effect such transfer or assignment.
However, if the franchisee proposes to transfer or assign the agreement, Remax will not unreasonably withhold consent, provided the franchisee submits financial and other information demonstrating that the transferees or assignees have sufficient business experience, aptitude, qualifications, and financial resources to operate the office and that they otherwise meet Remax's criteria for ownership of a Remax franchise.
