What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, when a contractor submits ideas, proposals, suggestions, works, or similar submissions, including any recommendations or ideas for marketing and advertising, services, products, technology, product improvements or enhancements or other content (collectively referred to as "Submissions"), the contractor agrees to the following terms.
The contractor agrees that the submissions, including any related intellectual property rights, will become Remax, LLC's property automatically when the contractor submits them to Remax, LLC, and without any compensation to the contractor. Remax, LLC is not restricted in its use of the submissions and may use them in any way, including giving them to others; and there is no obligation to keep submissions confidential or to attribute them to the contractor in any way.
This means that as a Remax franchisee, any ideas or content you submit to Remax become their property without any obligation for compensation or confidentiality. This is a significant point to consider, especially if you have innovative marketing strategies or proprietary content you wish to protect.
