What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax is not obligated to provide Team Offices with the same services and benefits as a standard Remax office. However, Remax has the discretion to provide some services and benefits to Team Offices if it deems appropriate. This is detailed in Item 22 of the FDD, which discusses the terms and conditions for establishing and operating a Team Office.
This means that a franchisee opening a Team Office should not expect to receive the full range of services and benefits that are provided to a regular Remax office. The level of support and resources available to a Team Office may be less than that of a standard office, and the franchisee should factor this into their business planning and financial projections. It is important for potential franchisees to clarify with Remax exactly which services and benefits will be extended to Team Offices to avoid any misunderstandings.
This policy allows Remax to maintain flexibility in how it supports different types of franchise locations. By not mandating the same level of services for Team Offices, Remax can tailor its support to the specific needs and circumstances of these locations. However, it also places a greater responsibility on the franchisee to manage the Team Office effectively with potentially fewer resources from the franchisor. Franchisees should inquire about the specific support offered to Team Offices during the due diligence process.
