What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax, LLC is not obligated to maintain MAX/Center indefinitely and may discontinue it at any time without liability to franchisees. MAX/Center is described as a password-protected Extranet website that serves as an electronic communication website for the exchange of important RE/MAX information. Franchisees and their sales associates must subscribe to MAX/Center.

MAX/Center includes features like e-mail forwarding addresses, messaging, a find an affiliate/office feature, industry news, information on and products from approved suppliers, and online tools for generating marketing materials. The agreement for use of MAX/Center sets forth the terms and conditions relating to its use. Remax also has the right to develop other Intranet or Extranet sites that franchisees must participate in.

This clause in the FDD highlights a potential risk for franchisees. While MAX/Center appears to be a valuable tool for communication and accessing resources within the Remax network, its continued availability is not guaranteed. If Remax chooses to discontinue MAX/Center, franchisees would need to adapt to alternative communication and resource platforms, which could potentially disrupt their business operations. Prospective franchisees should consider this potential disruption and inquire about Remax's plans for MAX/Center and alternative communication strategies.
