What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must pay a non-refundable initial fee of $1,000 for each Team Office they establish. This fee is referred to as the "Team Office Initial Fee." Additionally, if a franchisee renews a Team Office, they must pay a non-refundable renewal fee of $500, known as the "Team Office Renewal Fee." These fees are separate from the $100 monthly ongoing team office fee.
This initial fee is due upon execution of the Team Office Amendment. It is important to note that Remax Regional reserves the right to grant permission to establish a Team Office, considering factors such as location, population growth, market share, and other market conditions. The establishment of a Team Office is subject to the franchisee not being in default of any obligations under the Franchise Agreement.
For a prospective Remax franchisee, this means that opening a Team Office involves an upfront cost of $1,000, which is non-refundable. This fee, along with the ongoing monthly fee, should be factored into the financial planning for expanding operations with Team Offices. Furthermore, the franchisee needs to be aware of the conditions and factors Remax Regional considers before granting permission to establish a Team Office.
