What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee transferring their franchise does not need to pay an initial franchise fee to Remax. However, the transferee will need to pay a transfer fee of $2,500 to Remax per Franchise Agreement transfer.
In addition to the $2,500 transfer fee, the transferring franchisee must also cover any other costs incurred by Remax, such as administrative and legal expenses. These costs could be significantly higher than the transfer fee, depending on the nature and complexity of the transaction.
It is important for prospective Remax franchisees to understand all the costs associated with transferring a franchise, including the transfer fee and any additional expenses. Franchisees should carefully review the Franchise Agreement and consult with Remax to determine the full cost of a transfer.
