What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Remax reserves the right to implement a Technology Fee. If implemented, Remax has the right to increase or decrease the Technology Fee once in any calendar year. The maximum amount the Technology Fee can be increased is $5 per year.
The Technology Fee, if implemented, will be up to $15 for each Sales Associate in the franchisee's office during the previous calendar month. This fee applies whether or not the franchisee actually collected a technology fee from their Sales Associates. The franchisee is obligated to pay this fee to Remax by the 10th day of each month.
Remax determines the actual use of the Technology Fee funds at its sole discretion. This means that while franchisees are required to pay the fee, they have no direct control over how the funds are utilized by Remax. This is a common practice in franchising, where franchisors often pool resources for collective benefits like technology upgrades or marketing initiatives.
