What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, achieving the Minimum Agent Count does not guarantee success or profitability for a franchisee. Remax Regional establishes the Minimum Agent Count to help achieve a desired market presence in the area where the franchisee operates.
For a prospective Remax franchisee, this means that while meeting the Minimum Agent Count is a requirement of the franchise agreement, it is not a guarantee of financial success. Franchisees are still responsible for managing their business effectively and adapting to market conditions to achieve profitability. Failing to meet the Minimum Agent Count can lead to termination of the Franchise Agreement, as stated in Item 17.
Remax determines the Minimum Agent Count based on factors such as sales agent count, population, market share, the size and number of competitor offices, and other demographic data. These factors are considered to ensure that the franchisee has a reasonable target for building their business. However, franchisees should be aware that even if they meet the Minimum Agent Count, they may still face challenges in achieving profitability due to other factors such as competition, market conditions, and their own management skills.
