What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement can only be modified, amended, or altered through a written instrument signed by all parties involved in the agreement. This requirement ensures that any changes to the original terms are formally documented and agreed upon by everyone, preventing unilateral modifications.

However, Remax or REMAX, LLC, can issue new or modify existing brand standards related to the System to preserve and enhance the reputation of the RE/MAX organization, provided that the mandatory elements of the System pertain to the goodwill or protection of the RE/MAX Marks. This allows Remax to adapt its brand standards to maintain its image and protect its trademarks without requiring a full amendment to the franchise agreement.

Additionally, franchisees must agree to execute amendments or modifications to the agreement if required due to changes in governing law. This ensures that the Remax franchise operations remain compliant with legal requirements, and franchisees are obligated to adapt to these changes as they occur.
