Does the Remax franchise agreement grant any right to purchase, acquire, or open additional Remax franchises or Team Offices?

Remax Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be deemed, expressly or by implication, to grant or extend to you any right, option or preference to purchase, acquire or open an additional RE/MAX franchise or Team Office now or in the future.

However, in the event you purchase, acquire, or open one or more additional RE/MAX franchises in the future, each such franchise will be governed by a separate franchise agreement under a separate franchise term, which franchise agreement may have materially different and less favorable terms than this Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement does not grant any right, option, or preference to purchase, acquire, or open additional Remax franchises or Team Offices, either now or in the future. However, Remax Regional reserves the right to grant permission to establish a Team Office based on factors such as location, population growth, market share, and other market conditions.

If a franchisee does purchase, acquire, or open additional Remax franchises, each will be governed by a separate franchise agreement with its own term. These separate agreements may contain terms that are materially different and less favorable than the original agreement.

While the agreement does not guarantee the right to open additional offices, it does allow for the possibility of opening Team Offices with Remax Regional's permission. These Team Offices operate as part of the main office and under the same name, adhering to the same terms and conditions as the main office, unless otherwise specified in the agreement. Each Team Office must be a dedicated Remax facility with a size between 600 and 1,500 square feet, although Remax Regional has the discretion to allow larger spaces. Franchisees should be aware that Team Offices do not have protected areas or territorial exclusivity.
