What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, in the event of domain name or internet address transfer, Remax, LLC is appointed as the agent and attorney-in-fact. This appointment grants Remax, LLC the authority to execute, register, and file the necessary documents to effect the transfer. This includes completing processes and performing all lawfully permitted acts required by the registrar or any applicable law.

This means that as a Remax franchisee, you agree to allow Remax, LLC to handle the legal and administrative tasks associated with transferring domain names or internet addresses. This is intended to ensure a smooth and legally sound transfer process, as Remax, LLC can act on your behalf with the same legal force as if you or your owners executed the documents yourselves.

However, the franchisee is responsible for covering all costs associated with this process. The franchisee is obligated to pay directly or reimburse Remax, LLC for any expenses, including attorney fees, incurred in obtaining or deactivating any domain name or internet address. This financial responsibility underscores the importance of carefully managing domain names and internet addresses associated with the Remax franchise to avoid unnecessary costs during or after the franchise term.
