What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the licensor has the right to create, distribute, and use Aggregated Statistics for any lawful purpose during the term of the agreement and for a period of six months after the term. This is subject to the confidentiality obligations outlined in the agreement. Aggregated Statistics refers to data compiled from customer information but does not identify the customer.
This means that even after a Remax franchise agreement ends, Remax retains the right to use the franchise's customer data, as long as it is aggregated and anonymized. This clause allows Remax to continue leveraging data collected during the franchise relationship for broader market analysis and business strategies.
For a prospective franchisee, this implies that customer data generated during the franchise operation will continue to be utilized by Remax after the franchise agreement concludes. While the franchisee loses direct access to this data, Remax can still use it for up to six months to improve its services and strategies. Franchisees should be aware that their customer data contributes to Remax's ongoing data analysis even after their franchise term ends.
