What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the requirements for using the Remax Marks in connection with the Broker's office name and contact information are detailed in the RE/MAX Brand Identity: Trademark and Graphic Standards, or its successor, also referred to as the Brand Standards Manual. This manual is designed to protect the RE/MAX Marks, the goodwill they represent, and the reputation of the RE/MAX Network. The manual may be amended from time to time.
As a Remax franchisee, it's crucial to adhere to the guidelines in the Brand Standards Manual to ensure consistent brand representation and avoid any misuse of the RE/MAX Marks. This includes using the marks only in connection with the Broker's office name and contact information, as well as following any supplemental brand standards provided by REMAX, LLC.
The Brand Standards Manual also specifies limitations on how the RE/MAX Marks can be used. All advertising of services in any medium must include the Office name, Office address, phone number, and prominently indicate that "Each Office Independently Owned and Operated." Sales Associates must also adhere to these requirements in their advertising and personal promotion efforts. Franchisees must not use the RE/MAX Marks in any manner that may mislead or deceive consumers or for the promotion of any services other than Permitted Real Estate Service Activities provided by the office.
Remax franchisees must ensure that their use of the RE/MAX Marks aligns with the high standards of service and professionalism associated with the RE/MAX brand. The Limited License to use the RE/MAX Marks extends only to use in accordance with the Agreement, the Brand Standards Manual, and all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to advertising and marketing.
