What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the mandatory elements of the Remax System are detailed in the most current edition of the RE/MAX Brand Identity: Trademark and Graphic Standards, or its successor, and any supplemental brand standards provided by REMAX Regional or REMAX, LLC. These standards are collectively known as the Brand Standards Manual. Franchisees are required to strictly adhere to these mandatory elements, which are designed to protect the RE/MAX Marks, the goodwill they reflect, and the reputation of the RE/MAX Network. These standards may be amended from time to time.

It's important to note that while franchisees must adhere to the mandatory elements in the Brand Standards Manual, they retain control over the day-to-day operations of their business and the manner and means of their RE/MAX office. The Brand Standards Manual does not contain any mandatory provisions concerning the hiring, supervision, promotion, demotion, or termination of agents or employees, or concerning hours or schedule worked, rate of pay, benefits, work assigned, discipline, response to grievances and complaints or working conditions of agents or employees.

For a prospective Remax franchisee, this means understanding and complying with the Brand Standards Manual is crucial for maintaining brand consistency and protecting the reputation of the Remax network. However, franchisees have significant autonomy in managing their office's operations and personnel decisions, as long as they adhere to the mandatory brand standards.
