What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement stipulates that a franchisee's limited license to use Remax marks extends only to uses that comply with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to advertising and marketing. These laws and regulations include, but are not limited to, those addressing false advertising, unfair competition, and unfair practices.
This means that as a Remax franchisee, you must ensure that all your advertising and marketing activities, as well as those of your sales associates, adhere to these legal standards. Failure to comply with these laws and regulations could result in a breach of the franchise agreement and potential legal consequences.
It is important for prospective Remax franchisees to understand the scope of these laws and regulations in their specific jurisdiction and to seek legal counsel if necessary to ensure compliance. This requirement underscores the importance of ethical and legal business practices within the Remax franchise system, aimed at protecting the brand's reputation and goodwill.
