What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, customers can permit Authorized Users to access and use the Offerings. Remax customers are responsible for all use of the Offerings by their Authorized Users. However, User IDs and other access credentials cannot be shared or used by more than one Authorized User at a time.

This means that Remax franchisees have the ability to grant access to the Offerings to individuals they authorize, such as employees or assistants. This can streamline operations and allow for efficient delegation of tasks within the franchise. However, it's crucial for franchisees to manage these authorized users carefully, ensuring that each user has their own unique login credentials and that those credentials are not shared.

The responsibility for the actions of these Authorized Users ultimately falls on the Remax franchisee. Therefore, franchisees should implement clear policies and training programs for Authorized Users to ensure they understand the terms of use and comply with all applicable regulations. This helps protect the franchisee from potential liabilities arising from misuse of the Offerings by Authorized Users.

This practice aligns with common industry standards where businesses often delegate access to software and platforms to employees or authorized representatives. However, the emphasis on individual user credentials and the franchisee's responsibility for user actions highlights the importance of security and compliance in the Remax system.
