What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Remax's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at Broker/Owner conferences, meetings, and retreats is not mandatory, but it is strongly encouraged. While Remax "strongly encourage[s]" franchisees to attend these events, they are not required.

However, if a Remax franchisee chooses to attend these events, they must cover all associated costs. These costs include registration fees, travel, meals, lodging, and entertainment expenses for themselves and anyone else from their office who attends.

While attendance at these specific events is not mandatory, the FDD does state that new Remax franchisees or one of their principal owners must attend the initial education program and the recruiting 101 course. Additionally, Remax may require franchisees to complete additional courses prior to renewal of the franchise agreement.
