Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You will be entitled to attend REMAX, LLC's annual conventions, as well as occasional educational seminars it holds, designed to enhance the image of the System, assist franchisees in recruiting potential Sales Associates and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information on the operation of RE/MAX offices. Attendance is highly recommended. If you decide to attend any of these conventions or seminars, you will be responsible for payment of all travel, meal, lodging, and entertainment expenses, as well as a registration fee. What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at the annual conventions and educational seminars is not mandatory, but is highly recommended. While Remax encourages franchisees to attend these events to enhance the image of the Remax system, assist in recruiting sales associates, and exchange ideas, attendance is optional.

If a franchisee chooses to attend these conventions or seminars, they will be responsible for covering all associated costs. These expenses include travel, meals, lodging, and entertainment, as well as a registration fee. Additionally, nominal fees or charges may be assessed for social functions and educational or certification classes aimed at obtaining professional credits.

It is important to note that while conventions and seminars are optional, Remax does require new franchisees or their principal owners to attend an Initial Education Program and a Recruiting 101 course. These courses are mandatory and must be completed within specified timeframes. Failure to comply with the mandatory training programs or other obligations can result in the suspension of benefits and services, including access to electronic platforms, ineligibility for performance awards, and barring from attending conventions and other conferences.
