What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Remax Franchise Disclosure Document, any use of the RE/MAX Marks in advertising must include the office name, address, and phone number. This applies to all forms of advertising, including print, electronic media, social media, and internet websites. Additionally, all advertising must prominently display the phrase "Each Office Independently Owned and Operated." These requirements extend to the franchisee's sales associates as well, ensuring consistent branding and transparency across all advertising efforts.
These stipulations are in place to protect the RE/MAX Marks, the goodwill associated with them, and the overall reputation of the RE/MAX network. By ensuring that each office is clearly identified as independently owned and operated, Remax aims to avoid any potential consumer confusion about the scope of services offered or the relationship between individual offices and the Remax organization. This also helps to maintain a consistent brand image and quality standard across all Remax franchises.
For a prospective Remax franchisee, this means that all advertising materials, whether online or offline, must adhere to these guidelines. Failing to include the required information could result in a breach of the franchise agreement and potential penalties. Franchisees should ensure that their sales associates are also aware of and comply with these advertising requirements to maintain brand consistency and avoid any compliance issues. Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from using the RE/MAX Marks in any way that could mislead consumers regarding the office's location, service area, or relationship with Remax.
