Answer from 2024 FDD Document

The typical length of time between signing the Franchise Agreement and opening your RWC Businessis 150 days. You must begin full-time operation of your RWC Business following your completion to our satisfaction of all components of the Initial Training Program, which in no event may be later than 180 days after you and we sign the Franchise Agreement. If you do not commence operations of your RWC Business within 180 days of signing the Franchise Agreement, we may terminate the Franchise Agreement. However, we may extend the required time frame for commencement of your RWC Business upon written request by you. The main factors in determining the length of time between signing a Franchise Agreement and opening an RWC Business have been the amount of time required to complete training, obtain the required insurance coverage, and hiring any additional staff. We do not deliver or install any equipment, signs, or fixtures that are required to be used in your RWC Business.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Red Wagon Club Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is typically expected to begin full-time operations within 180 days of signing the Franchise Agreement, following the satisfactory completion of the Initial Training Program. Failure to commence operations within this timeframe could lead to the termination of the Franchise Agreement by Red Wagon Club.

However, the FDD states that Red Wagon Club may extend the timeframe for commencing business operations if the franchisee submits a written request. The primary factors influencing the initial 150-day period between signing the agreement and opening the business include the time it takes to complete training, secure necessary insurance coverage, and hire staff. These factors would likely be considered when evaluating a franchisee's request for an extension.

It is important to note that the FDD does not specify the criteria or process Red Wagon Club uses to evaluate extension requests, nor does it guarantee that an extension will be granted. A prospective franchisee should communicate proactively with Red Wagon Club if they anticipate needing more time and provide detailed reasons for the request.
