Why do required standards exist in the My Salon Suite system?

According to the 2025 My Salon Suite Franchise Disclosure Document, the required standards within the My Salon Suite system are in place to protect the franchisor's interests in the system and its trademarks. These standards are not intended to establish control over aspects of the business that are reserved for the franchisee.

The distinguishing characteristics of the My Salon Suite system include distinctive design, décor, proprietary services and products, uniform operational standards, quality control, and procedures for inventory, management, and financial oversight. These elements, along with training, assistance, and advertising programs, contribute to the overall brand identity and are subject to change and improvement by the franchisor.

My Salon Suite uses trade names, service marks, trademarks, logos, and emblems, including the "My Salon Suite" trademarks, to identify the system. The franchisor develops and controls these proprietary marks to represent the high standards of quality, appearance, and service associated with the brand. Franchisees must adhere to the System Standards and other requirements to maintain these standards and attract and retain clients, thereby preserving the goodwill of the Proprietary Marks.
