Is My Salon Suite required to approve any vendor proposed by a franchisee?

- B. List of Approved Vendors and Approved Products. Prior to the opening of the Franchised Business, Franchisor will provide Franchisee with a list of: (i) those items and services that Franchisee is required to purchase in connection with the establishment and operation of the Franchised Business, including specific salon equipment, beauty supplies and other purchases that must be made according to the System Standards and/or from Franchisor's approved/designated vendors (collectively, the "Required Purchases"); and (ii) Franchisor's approved/designated vendors for these Required Purchases (the "Approved Vendors"). These lists may be contained in the Manual or otherwise provided to Franchisee in writing, and Franchisor may modify or supplement these lists as it deems advisable in its sole discretion.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to My Salon Suite's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase certain items and services from vendors that have been approved or designated by My Salon Suite. Prior to opening their franchise, My Salon Suite will provide franchisees with a list of required purchases, including specific salon equipment and beauty supplies, that must be made according to the System Standards and/or from My Salon Suite's approved/designated vendors. These vendors are referred to as the "Approved Vendors."
My Salon Suite has the discretion to modify or supplement the list of required purchases and approved vendors as it deems advisable. The lists of required purchases and approved vendors may be contained in the Manual or otherwise provided to the franchisee in writing.
This means a My Salon Suite franchisee does not have complete autonomy in selecting vendors. They must use the vendors approved by My Salon Suite for "Required Purchases" to maintain the System Standards. A prospective franchisee should inquire about the process for suggesting or requesting the approval of a new vendor if they find it necessary for their business operations.
